Hong Kong Charges 10 More in JPEX Crypto Scandal, Bringing Total to 26
Hong Kong authorities have charged six men and four women with money laundering in connection with the JPEX cryptocurrency fraud case. The defendants, aged 26 to 47, face charges of conspiracy to launder money and will appear in court on March 27.
The investigation continues to expand, with international law enforcement assisting in tracking additional suspects. No mastermind has been identified yet, as authorities cast a wide net over the operation.
This follows November's charges against 16 individuals—including influencers and alleged core members—for fraud and money laundering. Chief Inspector Hon Shing-ho noted the gang heavily promoted JPEX as a legitimate investment platform since 2020 before luring victims through aggressive marketing.
